Resolve missing, delayed, interrupted, repeated, wrong-language, or feedback-prone TTS.
Best for: Multilingual producers, caption operators, accessibility leads, event administrators, and authorized language reviewers.
Before you start
Translation, target-language count, glossaries, and text-to-speech depend on event permissions, provider/model/language support, plan entitlements, usage allowances or wallet, and eligible BYOK configuration.
- Confirm source language and provider quality first.
- List approved target locales, terminology, voice requirements, and human review responsibilities.
- Test with representative content before distributing viewer links.
Troubleshooting steps
- Check event enablement. Feature entitlement, event toggle, provider/model, selected language, and usage.
- Check browser playback. User gesture, volume, mute, tab backgrounding, autoplay, battery saver, and output device.
- Check text feed. If source/translation is stale, TTS has nothing current to speak.
- Check queue. Long segments or slow speed can accumulate delay.
- Check duplicates. Source corrections/cache/dedupe can enqueue repeated speech.
- Check provider. Credentials/funding, quota, region, network, and outage.
- Check feedback. Use headphones and remove TTS from capture bus.
- Reset minimally. Pause/stop, reselect language/voice, and restart after current text is healthy.
After the fix: The configured language service produces the intended accessible output with known quality, latency, usage, and recovery behavior.
Confirm the fix
- The root cause is identified and TTS resumes current intelligible output without feedback or stale queue.
If the problem continues
Works after tapping only
This is expected browser autoplay behavior; document the user action.
Speech far behind
Clear/stop the backlog according to UI, increase speed within reason, and fix source/translation latency.
Repeated phrases
Review segment IDs, source corrections, cache, and dedupe; do not simply restart the whole live session.
Escalation and safety
- Protect audience hearing.
- Do not route TTS into STT.
- Communicate degraded spoken-caption service.
