Before you start

Translation, target-language count, glossaries, and text-to-speech depend on event permissions, provider/model/language support, plan entitlements, usage allowances or wallet, and eligible BYOK configuration.

  • Confirm source language and provider quality first.
  • List approved target locales, terminology, voice requirements, and human review responsibilities.
  • Test with representative content before distributing viewer links.

Troubleshooting steps

  1. Check source first. If source text is wrong, fix audio/STT before translation.
  2. Confirm target locale. Inspect event language list and viewer selection.
  3. Check provider state. Credentials/funding, API/IAM, quota, region, network, and outage.
  4. Check segment flow. Partials, finals, corrections, cache, and deduplication.
  5. Check glossary/domain. Look for dropped terms, unsupported Auto mode, provider limits, and DNT conflicts.
  6. Compare surfaces. Determine whether the issue is translation generation or destination rendering.
  7. Switch only to tested fallback. Verify every target and cost path.
  8. Capture evidence. Use redacted source/target pairs, timestamps, provider/model/settings, and impact.

After the fix: The configured language service produces the intended accessible output with known quality, latency, usage, and recovery behavior.

Confirm the fix

  • The issue is isolated to source, translation, terminology, cache, or display and corrected or placed in a communicated degraded mode.

If the problem continues

Source correct but no target

Check target enablement, provider, funding/quota, and segment finalization.

Duplicate targets

Review source corrections, cache invalidation, and dedupe.

Mixed languages

Check auto-detection, wrong locale, code-switching, and viewer stored selection.
