Open, position, and recover an ASL interpreter view alongside captions.
Best for: Event producers, display operators, accessibility leads, broadcast/AV engineers, web teams, and authorized remote operators.
Before you start
Availability depends on event access, plan entitlements, destination enablement, language configuration, and supported browser/display/network behavior.
- Use the correct event and final source/target language configuration.
- Know the physical or web destination, resolution, audience, privacy level, and monitoring owner.
- Test the final receiving screen, embed, graphics path, or operator device—not only the setup preview.
Step by step
- Confirm ASL is enabled/live. The event must provide public ASL output.
- Open ASL or PiP. Use the viewer control/destination.
- Position and size. Keep hands, face, and captions visible.
- Choose caption language. Verify text and interpreter view correspond to the event.
- Test orientation/fullscreen. Inspect phone and desktop.
- Monitor freshness. Video and captions should continue; brief timing differences may occur.
- Recover. Close/reopen PiP, check network, and reload the official viewer if necessary.
What success looks like: The intended audience or operator receives the correct event, language, styling, and control level with a documented reconnect and fallback path.
Check your setup
- The viewer sees the intended interpreter and captions without one obscuring the other.
Troubleshooting
ASL control absent
Check event entitlement/enablement and whether ASL Program is live.
Video frozen
Check network and ASL egress, then reload/reopen.
PiP covers text
Resize/reposition or use separate ASL destination.
Security and operational notes
- ASL Program is separate from private stage.
- Do not record/share interpreter video without authorization.
- Use the organizer’s official output.
