Personalize caption readability and keep the display active on mobile or desktop.

Before you start

Availability depends on event access, plan entitlements, destination enablement, language configuration, and supported browser/display/network behavior.

  • Use the correct event and final source/target language configuration.
  • Know the physical or web destination, resolution, audience, privacy level, and monitoring owner.
  • Test the final receiving screen, embed, graphics path, or operator device—not only the setup preview.

Step by step

  1. Open Viewer Settings. Use the visible settings control.
  2. Select language. Choose an enabled source/target and confirm new text matches it.
  3. Set text size. Increase until readable without losing necessary context.
  4. Set colors/background. Choose high contrast suitable for the environment.
  5. Set layout/speaker display. Use available options without obscuring captions.
  6. Enable screen wake. If supported, allow the page to keep the display awake; also review device auto-lock/battery saver.
  7. Rotate/test mobile. Verify portrait/landscape and browser chrome.
  8. Reset/recover. Return to safe defaults if a stored style becomes unreadable.

What success looks like: The intended audience or operator receives the correct event, language, styling, and control level with a documented reconnect and fallback path.

Check your setup

  • The viewer can read current captions comfortably and the device remains active as intended.

Troubleshooting

Setting reverts

Check browser storage/private mode and event override.

Screen still sleeps

Check OS auto-lock/battery policy and browser Wake Lock support.

Language changes but text does not

Wait for new segments and check translation freshness.

Security and operational notes

  • Screen wake can increase battery use/heat.
