Create durable speaker identities, panel groupings, and consented voice enrollment for routing and recognition.

Before you start

Audio, speech providers, multi-speaker features, and usage are governed by event permissions, plan entitlements, provider support, credentials or wallet, and browser/device compatibility.

  • Use the production event and supported browser/device.
  • Know the source language, speaker plan, latency target, output requirements, and fallback.
  • Test with representative voices, noise, pace, and the actual signal chain.

Steps

  1. Collect approved metadata. Preferred name, title, organization, pronunciation, image, panel, and retention consent.
  2. Create speaker records. Keep names unique and recognizable.
  3. Create panels. Group by session/agenda when it improves operations.
  4. Assign to event/routes. Map each person to the intended microphone/seat.
  5. Prepare enrollment environment. Use the actual microphone or a clean comparable path with little noise/reverb.
  6. Capture representative speech. Follow the enrollment prompt and include natural pace/phonetic range.
  7. Review consent and output. Verify public label/image and whether enrollment affects identification.
  8. Test and correct. Run a rehearsal and manually fix routing/identity rather than trusting automation blindly.

What success looks like: The configured audio and recognition path produces stable, attributable captions within the approved latency/quality target and has a tested recovery path.

Troubleshooting

Speaker not selectable

Confirm event/organization scope and save.

Enrollment weak

Repeat with clean level, consistent mic distance, and representative speech.

Wrong automatic identity

Disable/reduce the feature and use deterministic routing while investigating.

Security and operational notes

  • Voice enrollment can be biometric/personal data.
  • Apply consent, access, retention, and deletion policy.
  • Do not promise perfect identification.
