Choose whether viewers land in a lobby, skip it, or enter captions automatically.
Best for: Organization administrators, event producers, live operators, and authorized support staff.
Before you start
Event access and actions depend on organization role, team scope, plan entitlements, limits, and current event state.
- Use an individual verified account in the correct organization and team.
- Confirm the event owner, live operator, output owner, and incident authority.
- Review the current configuration before changing an existing or live event.
Step by step
- Define the audience journey. Decide whether identity, privacy, event details, and language selection must appear before captions.
- Use the lobby. Best when attendees need context or a language choice.
- Skip the lobby. Use when a direct caption experience is more important and defaults are already safe.
- Use auto-join. Use only after testing browser/device behavior and ensuring users are not surprised by audio/TTS.
- Set default language. Verify the language shown when no lobby choice occurs.
- Test link variants and embeds. Use signed-out phone/desktop sessions.
- Document support fallback. Provide a direct official URL and instructions for changing language/settings.
What success looks like: The event reaches the intended saved or live state, and every required operator can verify the result without receiving unnecessary access.
Check your setup
- Viewers enter the intended surface with correct defaults and can still reach personal settings.
Troubleshooting
Viewer lands in unexpected place
Check event lobby/skip/auto-join setting, URL parameters, embed, and cached preference.
Wrong language
Review default/order, stored viewer preference, and link parameters.
TTS does not start
Browser autoplay may require user interaction; do not force unexpected audio.
Security and operational notes
- Privacy/consent obligations may require a lobby.
- Never auto-play spoken captions unexpectedly in shared spaces.
- Test on representative mobile browsers.
