Choose whether viewers land in a lobby, skip it, or enter captions automatically.

Before you start

Event access and actions depend on organization role, team scope, plan entitlements, limits, and current event state.

  • Use an individual verified account in the correct organization and team.
  • Confirm the event owner, live operator, output owner, and incident authority.
  • Review the current configuration before changing an existing or live event.

Step by step

  1. Define the audience journey. Decide whether identity, privacy, event details, and language selection must appear before captions.
  2. Use the lobby. Best when attendees need context or a language choice.
  3. Skip the lobby. Use when a direct caption experience is more important and defaults are already safe.
  4. Use auto-join. Use only after testing browser/device behavior and ensuring users are not surprised by audio/TTS.
  5. Set default language. Verify the language shown when no lobby choice occurs.
  6. Test link variants and embeds. Use signed-out phone/desktop sessions.
  7. Document support fallback. Provide a direct official URL and instructions for changing language/settings.
