Prepare a dedicated operator workstation to run the 4All web production surface plus desktop-only integrations and local processing.
Best for: Event operators, production IT, and desktop administrators.
Before you start
Requires an active 4All account; desktop/offline entitlements may depend on plan and device-license capacity.
- Use a non-production event for commissioning.
- Record the current build and workstation owner.
- Prepare a documented fallback before making changes.
- A supported 64-bit workstation; the current build declares macOS 13 or later.
- Administrator access for installation and endpoint-security approval.
- Wired network, supported browser for authorization, and production audio hardware.
Installation and updates
- Download the approved signed installer for the workstation architecture.
- Verify the publisher/signature and app identifier com.4allcompany.4alllive.desktop before installation.
- Close earlier builds and active events, then install in the standard application location.
- Allow microphone, local network, outbound HTTPS/WebSocket, browser opener, updater, and local sidecar permissions when requested.
- Launch 4All.Live and select Authorize App; finish sign-in in the system browser.
- Return to the desktop app through the registered deep link.
- Select the organization/team and open a non-production event.
- Complete microphone, input routing, captions, display/share, local-model (if used), and stop/relaunch checks.
What success looks like: The app launches, authenticates, loads authorized workspaces, sees audio devices, and can complete a controlled event test.
Check your setup
- About reports the intended version (repository baseline 0.1.32).
- System permissions are granted to the installed app, not a stale copy.
- Browser authorization returns to the app.
- A test event starts and stops cleanly.
Troubleshooting
- App blocked: use the signed installer and IT allow-list process.
- Microphone missing: grant OS permission and relaunch.
- Authorization opens but does not return: repair deep-link registration and try again.
- Sidecar blocked: approve the signed forallcli executable and local loopback.
Security and operational notes
Important: Install and validate on a staging workstation before replacing an on-air build. Preserve the previous approved installer and event runbook for rollback.
