Assign, Transfer, and Troubleshoot Desktop Licenses

Activate XPression Bridge or 4All Encoder on the intended machine and manage device capacity safely.

Best for: Organization owners, billing administrators, finance approvers, event producers, and authorized support staff.

Before you start

Commercial actions and protected billing data require the correct organization role. Current plan, enterprise assignment, add-ons, seats, wallet, usage, payment state, and desktop license inventory determine effective availability.

• Confirm exact organization and authority.
• Record current subscription, entitlement, wallet, usage, or device state.
• Obtain required commercial approval before purchase, cancellation, payment, or license transfer.

Troubleshooting steps

1. Inventory entitlement. Product, quantity, status, renewal.
2. Identify machine. Hostname/device, operator, location, app build.
3. Open Desktop licenses/devices. Confirm org/permission.
4. Assign capacity. Use supported allocation.
5. Authorize app. Correct account/org via browser.
6. Activate. Wait for valid device state.
7. Run acceptance. Restart plus real source/output receiver.
8. Transfer only off air. Stop production, release old device, activate/test new device.
9. Troubleshoot systematically. Identity/org, entitlement, device record, network/time, app version, safe logs.
10. Update inventory. Approver/date.

After the fix: The approved commercial or license state is reflected in 4All and verified against the intended workflow.

Confirm the fix

• Intended product valid on intended machine.
• Old device released when transferred.
• Inventory/current app agree.

If the problem continues

No capacity

Reconcile quantity/active devices/add-on.

Wrong organization

Sign out/reauthorize/select correct workspace.

Stale state

Refresh, check network/time/version, escalate with safe IDs.

Escalation and safety

• Never release on-air device.
• License/device IDs are sensitive.
• Do not edit local license data manually.
