Authenticate 4All.Live Desktop, XPression Bridge, or 4All Encoder through the browser.
Best for: Users of 4All desktop products.
Before you start
The account needs organization access; XPression Bridge and Encoder may require an assigned active desktop license.
- Install from the approved source.
- Know the product/machine that initiated authorization.
- Keep the initiating app open.
- Allow the registered 4All callback/deep link.
Step by step
- Start Sign In in the desktop app. The app opens a short-lived browser authorization request.
- Inspect the request. Confirm the product and that you initiated it.
- Authenticate in the browser. Use an approved method and complete verification.
- Approve the return. Allow the browser to open the registered desktop app.
- Return to the initiating instance. Do not switch to another installed copy.
- Select the organization. Verify workspace and event access.
- Verify licensing. Bridge/Encoder users confirm the assigned device license before production setup.
What success looks like: The initiating app receives a session for the correct account/organization without exposing the browser credential.
Check your setup
- Desktop and browser identities match.
- Organizations/events load.
- Required license is valid.
- Closing the browser does not unexpectedly log out the app.
Troubleshooting
Browser succeeds but app stays signed out
Return to the original app, allow the protocol handler, and retry from the app.
Wrong product opens
Remove/update stale builds or protocol registrations and restart.
No organization/license
Check membership, active organization, role, license assignment, plan, and connectivity.
Security and operational notes
- Authorize only requests you initiated.
- Never copy desktop auth codes or callback URLs into tickets.
- Revoke decommissioned/shared machines.
