Tune line assembly, rolling captions, active highlighting, and manual TAKE for production timing.
Best for: Event producers, display operators, accessibility leads, broadcast/AV engineers, web teams, and authorized remote operators.
Before you start
Availability depends on event access, plan entitlements, destination enablement, language configuration, and supported browser/display/network behavior.
- Use the correct event and final source/target language configuration.
- Know the physical or web destination, resolution, audience, privacy level, and monitoring owner.
- Test the final receiving screen, embed, graphics path, or operator device—not only the setup preview.
Step by step
- Define control model. Continuous automatic display versus operator-controlled TAKE.
- Set line/segment count. Match reading speed and graphics/venue space.
- Set rolling behavior. Decide how prior and current text advance and clear.
- Set partial/final policy. Reduce on-screen rewriting where the audience needs stability.
- Configure TAKE. Define who previews and sends text, cue communication, and what happens without an operator action.
- Test long/short utterances. Include pauses, corrections, repeated phrases, and rapid speaker turns.
- Test clearing. Check manual clear, Stop, provider reconnect, and scene/output restart.
- Document emergency behavior. Holding text, manual correction, and fallback.
What success looks like: The intended audience or operator receives the correct event, language, styling, and control level with a documented reconnect and fallback path.
Check your setup
- Automatic or TAKE-controlled captions advance without duplication, stranded text, or unexpected clears.
Troubleshooting
Text never goes to program
Confirm TAKE mode and operator action/permission.
Old line remains
Check roll/clear/final segment behavior and downstream cache.
Audience sees unstable preview
Separate preview and program destinations and verify link/output.
Security and operational notes
- TAKE adds an operational dependency and latency.
- Do not learn manual control on air.
- Preserve an emergency continuous mode.
