Restore access safely while distinguishing authentication, authorization, network, and deep-link failures.

Best for: Operators, organization owners, and support staff.

Before you start

Owners/admins may be required to restore membership or revoke a device session.

  • Use a non-production event for commissioning.
  • Record the current build and workstation owner.
  • Prepare a documented fallback before making changes.
  • Record the user, workstation, app version, time, organization, and exact error.
  • Confirm the user can sign in to the web application.
  • Stop active events before revoking or replacing a session.

Step by step

  1. Test general network and system time; large clock errors can invalidate sessions.
  2. Check web sign-in and organization/team membership.
  3. In desktop, sign out and close the application.
  4. Reopen and Authorize App, using a fresh browser page.
  5. If return fails, verify the registered deep link and security software.
  6. If access remains denied, have an owner review role, invitation, plan, and device-license capacity.
  7. For a lost/retired workstation, revoke its desktop session/device license through approved administration.
  8. Retest event list and one protected action, then document recovery.

What success looks like: A fresh authorized session works or the failure is isolated to membership, licensing, deep link, or network.

Check your setup

  • Old session is no longer relied on.
  • Correct least-privilege role is visible.
  • Only intended device remains authorized.
  • A protected desktop API call succeeds.

Troubleshooting

  • Web works/desktop fails: focus on callback, deep link, token store, or app version.
  • Both fail: focus on account verification, password/passkey, or organization status.
  • Repeated prompt: verify token persistence and system clock.
  • Device limit: release an approved inactive device rather than bypassing licensing.

Security and operational notes

Important: Session tokens and authorization codes are credentials. Do not paste them into logs, screenshots, tickets, or chat.
