Before you start

Web features follow the organization plan; desktop-only/local features can additionally require a device entitlement.

  • Use a non-production event for commissioning.
  • Record the current build and workstation owner.
  • Prepare a documented fallback before making changes.
  • Document required audio devices, local/offline needs, OS policy, update control, and operator location.
  • Confirm the web browser is supported.
  • Confirm whether a managed desktop install is allowed.

Step by step

  1. Use the web app for general account, organization, team, billing, event planning, sharing, displays, and administration when no desktop-only integration is required.
  2. Use the desktop app when local audio-device enumeration, the forallcli sidecar, offline/local STT, signed auto-updates, or tighter operator workstation integration is required.
  3. Prefer the desktop app for a fixed production station that has been preflighted and change-controlled.
  4. Prefer the browser for occasional remote administration and viewer-facing links.
  5. Do not run the same live microphone/event from desktop and browser simultaneously unless the workflow explicitly requires separate named inputs.
  6. Test browser permissions/profile and desktop OS permissions separately.
  7. Document the selected primary and backup surface in the event runbook.
