Resolve desktop context and bind a bridge to the exact 4All event and source or target language.

Best for: XPression operators, graphics engineers, caption operators, broadcast engineers, production IT, and licensed desktop administrators.

Before you start

Requires an active 4All organization/event, authorized desktop account, eligible XPression Bridge license, supported app build, and a network path to 4All plus the selected XPression protocol.

  • Document the 4All event/language and XPression scene/DataLinq design.
  • Know the bridge/XPression machines, IP interfaces, protocol, direction, port, firewall owner, and final program return.
  • Prepare a backup output and an off-air test scene.

How to choose

  1. Authorize desktop app. Use an individual account.
  2. Select organization. Confirm role/permissions and credential status.
  3. Select team. Use the event-owning team or General context where appropriate.
  4. Refresh Events. Desktop events are loaded with explicit organization/team resolution.
  5. Identify event. Name, slug, live state, model, translation state, languages.
  6. Select language. Source or enabled target expected by graphics.
  7. Confirm live source. Use 4All Live Setup and known phrase.
  8. Record binding. Organization/team/event ID and locale in the bridge runbook.

What success looks like: The Bridge transports the correct 4All caption state to the intended XPression scene with verified formatting, timing, monitoring, and recovery.

Check your setup

  • The selected event/language matches the web event and fresh captions arrive when live.

Troubleshooting

Event missing

Check active org/team, event permission, desktop context, and refresh.

Language missing

Enable it in event setup and confirm provider/plan.

Wrong event captions

Stop output, correct selection, retest before program.

Security and operational notes

  • Do not rely on identical event names; verify slug/ID/team.
  • Desktop context does not bypass web permissions.
  • Target translations may add latency.

Documentation status: Draft based on XPression Bridge repository version 0.1.59. Validate the installed release, supported OS, license policy, and live graphics workflow before publishing.
