Restore a clean supported browser environment without losing event state or escalating a local issue as a platform outage.

Best for: Web operators, viewers, and local IT.

Before you start

Browser administration may be controlled by organizational device policy.

  • Use a non-production reproduction when possible.
  • Record current configuration before changes.
  • Keep an independent confidence monitor and fallback.
  • Know the supported browser/version and exact affected origin.
  • Record the current event state before reload.
  • Have permission to change site settings or use a managed test profile.

Troubleshooting steps

  1. Confirm the browser is current and test the exact URL in a supported engine.
  2. Inspect site permissions for microphone, camera where applicable, sound/autoplay, popups/downloads, clipboard, and notifications required by the workflow.
  3. Verify the intended microphone and speaker in both OS and 4All controls.
  4. Test in a new clean browser profile or private window with extensions disabled, without starting a duplicate live source.
  5. Clear only 4All site data/cache when stale assets are suspected; sign-in will be required again.
  6. Disable sleep, battery optimization, tab suspension, or memory savers on the operator machine.
  7. Compare console/network errors and WebSocket behavior between the original and clean profile.
  8. Re-enable extensions one at a time after the cause is known.

After the fix: The workflow works in the supported clean environment and the conflicting permission, cache, policy, or extension is identified.

Confirm the fix

  • Microphone meter responds.
  • WebSockets remain connected.
  • No duplicate operator session was created.
  • Normal profile is repaired or a managed workaround is documented.

If the problem continues

  • Permission remains denied: reset site permission in browser and OS.
  • Works in private mode: clear site data and review extensions.
  • Tab pauses: exclude the site from sleeping/energy savers.
  • Corporate policy blocks capability: provide exact domain/permission to IT.

Escalation and safety

Important: Do not disable endpoint protection or browser policy globally as a troubleshooting shortcut.
