Teams and Event Access

Understand how organization roles, team membership, team event permissions, and event assignment combine.

Best for: Administrators, producers, and support staff diagnosing access.

Before you start

Owners/admins can bypass some non-privileged team restrictions; effective access depends on current permission policy.

• Sign in with an individual account in the correct organization.
• Confirm your role permits the requested change.
• Record the current state and intended owner before making a production-impacting change.

Step by step

1. Identify the user. Confirm exact email, organization membership, and active organization.
2. Identify organization role. Owner/admin/member/custom role establishes the broad permission ceiling.
3. Identify team membership. Confirm the user belongs to the event’s team or another authorized scope.
4. Inspect team event permissions. Review actions granted to non-privileged roles.
5. Inspect the event. Confirm which team owns it and whether special access applies.
6. Test the effective result. Use a non-admin test account or have the member refresh and attempt the exact action.
7. Correct one layer. Change the narrowest incorrect role/team/event setting and retest.

What success looks like: The requested change is applied to the intended organization, is visible after refresh, and grants no more access than required.

• The member can list/open/operate only intended events and the reason for access is documented.

Troubleshooting

Event missing

Check active organization/team, event team, membership, and list/open permission.

Can open but cannot operate

Review Live Setup, live-control, Remote Control, takeover, ASL, and event-update actions.

Change not reflected

Refresh session and cached organization/team queries.

Security and operational notes

• Do not grant admin solely to solve one missing event permission.
• Test custom roles with non-production accounts.
• Audit temporary elevated access.
