Before you start
Owners/admins can bypass some non-privileged team restrictions; effective access depends on current permission policy.
- Sign in with an individual account in the correct organization.
- Confirm your role permits the requested change.
- Record the current state and intended owner before making a production-impacting change.
Step by step
- Identify the user. Confirm exact email, organization membership, and active organization.
- Identify organization role. Owner/admin/member/custom role establishes the broad permission ceiling.
- Identify team membership. Confirm the user belongs to the event’s team or another authorized scope.
- Inspect team event permissions. Review actions granted to non-privileged roles.
- Inspect the event. Confirm which team owns it and whether special access applies.
- Test the effective result. Use a non-admin test account or have the member refresh and attempt the exact action.
- Correct one layer. Change the narrowest incorrect role/team/event setting and retest.
What success looks like: The requested change is applied to the intended organization, is visible after refresh, and grants no more access than required.

Troubleshooting
Event missing
Check active organization/team, event team, membership, and list/open permission.
Can open but cannot operate
Review Live Setup, live-control, Remote Control, takeover, ASL, and event-update actions.
Change not reflected
Refresh session and cached organization/team queries.
Security and operational notes
- Do not grant admin solely to solve one missing event permission.
- Test custom roles with non-production accounts.
- Audit temporary elevated access.
