Use health checks, debug snapshots, interfaces, output state, payload preview, and logs without exposing secrets.
Best for: XPression operators, graphics engineers, caption operators, broadcast engineers, production IT, and licensed desktop administrators.
Before you start
Requires an active 4All organization/event, authorized desktop account, eligible XPression Bridge license, supported app build, and a network path to 4All plus the selected XPression protocol.
- Document the 4All event/language and XPression scene/DataLinq design.
- Know the bridge/XPression machines, IP interfaces, protocol, direction, port, firewall owner, and final program return.
- Prepare a backup output and an off-air test scene.
Step by step
- Record incident scope. Event/output/time/impact/operator.
- Open Status. Bridge count, running/cloud-connected count, XPression connections, last caption time.
- Open diagnostics/debug. API base, transcript WebSocket base, local interfaces, checks, outputs, update state.
- Inspect output snapshot. Protocol, bind/port, enabled/running, cloud, tests, XPression count, URLs, error, sequence, latency, payload format/preview.
- Inspect logs. Filter by time/level/scope.
- Correlate XPression/network logs. Use synchronized clocks.
- Redact. Tokens, private URLs, caption content, user/org data where not required.
- Reproduce off air. Test script and a minimal connection.
- Escalate. App version/channel/OS/arch, safe IDs, topology, exact error, redacted bundle.
What success looks like: The Bridge transports the correct 4All caption state to the intended XPression scene with verified formatting, timing, monitoring, and recovery.
Check your setup
- Evidence isolates auth/cloud, event/language, bind/firewall, protocol/parser, rolling, XPression, or update cause.
Troubleshooting
No logs after crash
Check approved app log location and avoid reinstall before collection.
Payload good, scene bad
Focus DataLinq mapping/template/take.
Diagnostics expose data
Redact before sharing.
Security and operational notes
- Logs/payloads may contain captions and network information.
- Never include tokens/credentials.
- Preserve originals securely.
