Understand which settings should be reusable and which must remain event-, device-, or secret-specific.
Best for: Organization administrators, event producers, live operators, and authorized support staff.
Before you start
Event access and actions depend on organization role, team scope, plan entitlements, limits, and current event state.
- Use an individual verified account in the correct organization and team.
- Confirm the event owner, live operator, output owner, and incident authority.
- Review the current configuration before changing an existing or live event.
Step by step
- Classify settings. Separate workflow defaults from event identity, local devices, private links, credentials, licenses, and one-time destinations.
- Reuse stable choices. Provider/model policy, caption tuning, display style, routing pattern, language pattern, and approved output defaults may be candidates.
- Exclude secrets. Never encode BYOK keys, stream keys, passphrases, auth tokens, or private-stage/control URLs.
- Review device assumptions. Audio/capture device IDs and desktop hardware can change by machine.
- Review entitlement assumptions. The target organization/plan may not support every preset feature.
- Review live safety. Do not apply over a live configuration without a change/rollback plan.
- Document post-apply checklist. Require identity, devices, languages, links, permissions, and downstream tests.
What success looks like: The event reaches the intended saved or live state, and every required operator can verify the result without receiving unnecessary access.
Check your setup
- Operators know exactly what a preset does not guarantee and complete the event-specific checks.
Troubleshooting
Preset enables unavailable feature
Resolve entitlement/add-on or disable the setting.
Output points to old destination
Replace event-specific endpoint and rotate any exposed credential.
Style applies but behavior does not
Check event overrides, destination-specific settings, and product version.
Security and operational notes
- Treat presets as configuration artifacts with owners and review dates.
- Keep credentials and personal data out.
- Apply least privilege to preset management.
