Create a stream that receives the exact 4All source or translation transcript intended for the encoded video.

Before you start

Requires permission to view the target organization, team, and event.

  • Sign in with access to the correct organization, team, and event.
  • Record event, language, workstation, app build, OS, drivers, destination, and operator.
  • Commission with a test pattern and non-public receiver before program video.
  • Create the event in the correct web team.
  • Enable the required source/translation languages.
  • Complete desktop browser authorization.

How to choose

  1. Choose the organization and team that own the event.
  2. Refresh events. Encoder uses /api/desktop/encoder/context and /api/desktop/encoder/events for authorized context.
  3. Select the event and verify its live state and languages.
  4. Choose the spoken language for source captions or an enabled translated language.
  5. Create a stream named with venue, destination, resolution, and language.
  6. Keep Test input for commissioning and add only the first required output.
  7. Save disabled, review every tab, test captions, and enable only after receiver validation.

What success looks like: The profile remains bound to the intended event/language and receives caption updates while the event is live.

Check your setup

  • Workspace selection survives relaunch.
  • Caption sequence/latency update during speech.
  • Event ID matches the runbook.
  • No permission error appears.

Troubleshooting

  • Empty events: reselect team, refresh authentication, and confirm ownership.
  • Language absent: enable it in the web event.
  • Stale captions: verify event live state and transcript language.
  • Wrong binding: stop all targets, correct it, and retest.

Security and operational notes

Important: Event names are not unique identifiers. Validate organization, team, event ID, and language together.
