Map common production responsibilities to event, Live Setup, Remote Control, takeover, ASL, export, and management permissions.

Before you start

Permissions control authorization; plan entitlements, event toggles, live ownership, and device availability can still limit a permitted action.

  • Sign in with an individual account in the correct organization.
  • Confirm your role permits the requested change.
  • Record the current state and intended owner before making a production-impacting change.

Reference

  1. Event administrator. Needs intended create/read/update/team assignment and possibly delete; separate deletion when not required.
  2. Live producer. Needs event access, Setup/Live configuration, preflight, Go Live/Stop, outputs, and audit visibility.
  3. Caption operator. Needs source/language/tuning/glossary controls and the approved live actions.
  4. Remote controller. Needs Remote Control access and only the remote scopes required; host device ownership remains separate.
  5. Takeover operator. Needs explicit takeover authority and incident training; do not bundle by default.
  6. ASL operator/interpreter. Needs the appropriate ASL control or interpreter surface, not broad organization administration.
  7. Export/analytics user. Needs deliverable or statistics access without live/device controls.
  8. Validate combinations. Test allow/deny behavior on representative events and states.

Validation checks

  • Each production job maps to an intentionally tested role, and sensitive actions such as delete, billing, BYOK, takeover, and license administration are separated.

Compatibility notes

Permission exists but control is disabled

Check event state, entitlement, feature toggle, host ownership, device readiness, and wallet/usage.

Remote user cannot see devices

The Live Setup host must be connected and sharing sanitized device/routing state.

Operator can access unrelated events

Reduce organization role or team/event scope.

Limits and cautions

  • Grant takeover only to trained incident owners.
  • Separate billing/credentials from routine live operations.
  • Review audit history after privileged live actions.
