Exit a workspace or permanently remove it only after ownership, data, billing, and production obligations are resolved.
Best for: Owners and administrators following an approved offboarding process.
Before you start
Only authorized roles can leave or delete; owner transfer or last-owner restrictions may apply. Deletion can be irreversible.
- Sign in with an individual account in the correct organization.
- Confirm your role permits the requested change.
- Record the current state and intended owner before making a production-impacting change.
Step by step
- Classify the action. Leaving removes one member; deleting removes the organization and its resources. Confirm which outcome is authorized.
- Stop active work. End live sessions, streams, bridges, encoders, and pending production changes.
- Preserve required records. Export approved transcripts, analytics, invoices, configuration evidence, license inventory, and incident records.
- Resolve ownership. Transfer responsibility, ensure another owner exists when leaving, and verify billing/support contacts.
- Resolve billing and licenses. Cancel or transfer subscriptions/add-ons as approved, settle wallet/usage questions, and release desktop device licenses.
- Revoke integrations. Rotate/remove BYOK credentials, webhooks, embeds, and external access.
- Perform the action. Use Organization settings and confirm the exact organization name/identifier in the destructive confirmation.
- Verify and document. Confirm access and billing state from a separate authorized account and record approver/time.
What success looks like: The requested change is applied to the intended organization, is visible after refresh, and grants no more access than required.
Check your setup
- A leaving member loses access while the organization remains governed, or an approved deletion completes with required records preserved.
- No live output, paid license, provider credential, or external integration is orphaned.
Troubleshooting
Cannot leave
Transfer sole ownership or satisfy the displayed governance rule.
Delete blocked
Resolve active subscription, ownership, live event, or permission prerequisites.
Wrong organization selected
Cancel immediately; verify switcher and identifier before resuming.
Security and operational notes
- Deletion is destructive and requires explicit authority.
- Never delete to solve a sign-in or role problem.
- Apply contractual, legal, privacy, and retention requirements before removal.
