Coordinate hosts, Remote Control users, backups, reconnects, and explicit takeover.

Best for: Organization administrators, event producers, live operators, and authorized support staff.

Before you start

Event access and actions depend on organization role, team scope, plan entitlements, limits, and current event state.

  • Use an individual verified account in the correct organization and team.
  • Confirm the event owner, live operator, output owner, and incident authority.
  • Review the current configuration before changing an existing or live event.

Troubleshooting steps

  1. Name the host. The Live Setup host owns microphones and local device/routing state.
  2. Name controllers/backups. Assign Remote Control scopes and takeover authority separately.
  3. Use presence/audit. Confirm connected operators and recent actions before changing state.
  4. Recover the original host first. If the app/browser reconnects, inspect whether the live session remains owned.
  5. Use Remote Control when appropriate. Control the active host without taking device ownership.
  6. Take over only when authorized. Announce, verify the event is already live, invoke Take over, and confirm new ownership.
  7. Revalidate after takeover. Check devices, routing, providers, captions, outputs, and final return.
  8. Handoff explicitly. Record new host and prevent the old host from making conflicting changes.

After the fix: The event reaches the intended saved or live state, and every required operator can verify the result without receiving unnecessary access.

Confirm the fix

  • One authoritative host owns the live session, remote actions are coordinated, and recovery/takeover is auditable.

If the problem continues

Takeover says event not live

Use Go Live after preflight instead.

Remote controller sees no devices

The host must connect and expose sanitized state.

Old host reconnects

Coordinate, inspect ownership/audit, and avoid dueling controls.

Escalation and safety

  • Takeover is an incident action, not routine navigation.
  • Do not share host/controller credentials.
  • Keep an out-of-band communication channel.
