Run the pre-show check
- Confirm the workstation is on the supported build, authorized, and Licensed.
- Verify the selected organization, team, event, and target language.
- Confirm every saved device, file, application, and network peer is available.
- Check graph edges, channel mapping, sample rate, clocking, gain, and headroom.
- For LL-TTS, confirm the producer browser is open, awake, connected, and actively publishing during an active recording session.
- Identify the monitored fallback and the person authorized to activate it.
Start and test
- Keep downstream listener distribution off air while starting the Signal pipeline.
- Watch each source move from its initial state to a ready or streaming state.
- Confirm source, post-processing, and final output meters.
- Listen at the physical interface or other approved local handoff.
- Open the downstream path only after the correct program and language are verified.
Monitor the live path
Watch node status, source and output meters, clip indicators, TTS jitter, aggregate underruns, device availability, and the downstream technician's return check. A single moving meter proves only that point in the chain.
Important: do not make structural graph changes while the pipeline is live. Stop before adding, removing, reconnecting, importing, or remapping production nodes.
Stop safely
- Notify the downstream operator and move listeners to the approved fallback or close the destination.
- Stop the Signal pipeline cleanly.
- Confirm outputs are silent and any recording has finalized.
- Save only verified configuration changes.
- Quit and relaunch Signal off air, then repeat a short start and stop test.
Verify readiness
- The pipeline starts without a disabled control or unresolved node.
- The correct source and target language reach the intended output channel.
- Levels remain stable without clip hold or unexplained gaps.
- The approved fallback can be identified and activated.
- The graph restarts after a clean stop and application relaunch.
Troubleshoot
- Start disabled: inspect license, mandatory update, missing devices, invalid graph, and source availability.
- TTS waiting: check active recording, producer lease, publisher, event, language, entitlement, wallet, caps, credentials, and network.
- Output meter but downstream silence: test the interface, cable, transmitter input, channel, and receiver as separate stages.
- Dropouts or distortion: protect the fallback, then trace underruns, clipping, buffering, sample rate, and clocking.
Operational boundary
Signal operations cover the workstation graph and local output. Venue approval, RF operation, receivers, headsets, staffing, and attendee distribution remain the responsibility of the approved external production plan.
